What Is a Computer?
The computer is an electronic device, operating under the control of instructions stored in its memory, that can accept data, process the data according to specified rules, produce results, and stores the results for future use. There are some related concepts to computer such as Data - collection of unorganized facts, which can be words, numbers, images, and sounds. Then the computers manipulate and process data to create information. Then the information – data, that is organized, has meaning, and useful. E.g. reports, pictures, invoice or a check. Then the input - data entered into a computer and the output - processed results from a computer. The components of a computer are the Hardware – the electronic and mechanical equipment that makes up the computer and software – a series of instructions that tells the hardware how to perform tasks.
